I'm not sure this will solve your problem, but it is what I noticed my EC9. Next time I go to the range I will pay more attention to my finger location on the opposite side as I cycle threw my supply of magazines. This might be the problem because it would not always happen. The button is hard to push and even when completely pushed in many times the magazine will not drop out.
