Dying Light has been out for nearly a week with its parkour take on action survival horror. Around every turn is a new threat for you to either avoid or meet head-on. Dying Light not only pits you against zombies but also against an enemy human faction controlled by Rais, one of the primary antagonists, hell bent on controlling everything in the city of Harran. They can be a serious threat if you approach combat in the wrong way. The human enemies come in three distinct varieties. You have your melee, throwing weapons, and firearm-equipped humans to look out for.

It only becomes a problem when you start to get swarmed by them. Luckily zombies only have a handful of attacks. Regular zombies are known to swing at you and, at times, lunge and bite you. So have fun while fighting them. Fighting humans can be a bit tricky when compared to zombies. One of the main things is that all humans carry weapons, throw knives and shoot arrows at you. Usually, the only humans that fight you the second they see you are bandits, and they can be spotted roaming the streets or in little camps on roofs. You could kill PK soldiers, Survivors, and Bandits and still be rewarded combat points all the same. And a great way to learn what attacks humans usually do is by going to the Main Terminal Station in Quarry End. One of the most standard enemy types in the game, regular soldiers come in one of three forms: a standard melee fighter , a fire-focused enemy that can shoot flames or a ranged-based grunt. Survivor and Peace Keeper enemies will stick exclusively melee, but facing bandits or renegades will bring out all three variants. For the most part, you'll encounter humans all over the map. Renegades and bandits can be found in Bandit Camps, while Survivors and Peacekeepers reside in rooftop bases, but you'll find humans fighting infected and patrolling the streets in all districts regardless. If you're fighting melee enemies, the main thing to remember is to parry , dodge and grapple. It'll give you a window to attack or pull off various manoeuvres, whether that's dropkicking a foe off a rooftop or launching yourself off a stunned enemy to execute the Vault Kick.

As for both the ranged enemy types, your best bet here is to either rush them and attack quickly or fall back, find cover and used ranged weapons.
