She unexpectedly kills him, but luckily for Issei, he gets reincarnated by Rias Gremory, a third-year student at the academy. Issei survives and has a foggy recollection of past events until he finds Rias in his bed. The second season adapted The Excalibur of the Moonlit Schoolyard and The Vampire of the Empty Classroom arcs, which roughly cover the third and fourth volumes of the light novels. Season 3 premiered after two years and adapted the fifth to seventh volumes of the light novels with the addition of original story arcs. So far, the final season in the franchise has adapted material from the ninth and tenth volumes and continued the story with a different studio but focused more on the source material. There was no official announcement from the studio about the renewal, nor were any visuals or concept art released.
