Here are our Thai influences favourites. The team chose the St James Quarter as its home, to bring cooking techniques and recipes gleaned from travels across Northern Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore, as well as some Australian influences. This quaint restaurant is somewhat unassuming at first look sitting unobtrusively beside its other neighbouring restaurants. However, it is the unparalleled cuisine that perhaps sets Dusit apart from its affiliates. Avoiding the overly opulent, the restaurant is aesthetically humble yet has a classy finish as though disregarding the superficial pomp of fine dining restaurants yet simultaneously asserting itself as a top contender among them. And the food is certainly testament to this view. This is the local haunt for students at the University of Edinburgh as it cooks some of the tastiest food at some of the most reasonable prices in the city.

Good ingredients, similar flavours. We got 4 a la carte main dishes and two each tasted remarkably similar tofu steak satay and the Dusit red curry; two of the wok dishes. All dishes were pretty sweet and could have done with a good spritz of lime. Maybe we ordered wrong but overall we were underwhelmed by the taste experience or, rather, the lack of variety. The papaya salad spicy! December We had a lovely mid week lunch in Dusit. We went for a Thai meal in a restaurant just up the road a few weeks back and were really disappointed by the food however we really could not fault anything about Dusit. The staff were so friendly and efficient and the food was really well presented.
