Unfortunately, the party won't find Ravengard anywhere in Act 1 and must continue to Act 2 to find him. In fact, players have no chance of rescuing Ravengard during Act 2, even though the party can find and rescue the tieflings, the deep gnomes, and even Zevlor from True Soul clutches. It's only during Act 3 of Baldur's Gate 3 that players will have a chance to free Ravengard and bring him back to camp. She gives the party a quest to find and rescue the Grand Duke, whose captors she traced to Moonrise Towers. However, Ravengard isn't in the tower's prison, and unlike Zevlor, he isn't in the pods in the Mind Flayer Colony beneath it. Instead, the first time players get a chance to see Duke Ravengard is when the party overhears the champions of the Dead Three talking about their plans. This happens at the end of the Mind Flayer Colony area and right before the second and third phases of the Ketheric Thorm boss battle. Ravengard and the other two champions leave before the fight begins, and so players won't see him again until Act 3. The next time the party sees him, Grand Duke Ravengard is proclaiming Gortash the new Archduke of Baldur's Gate, a position Gortash invented to become the city's dictator. Ravengard is alive and well, but he's also deep under the Absolute's influence. This happens the first time players reach Wyrm's Rock Fortress.

I was never given the opportunity to save the Duke. Joined: Sep Calibur OP. My partner and I just took out Gortash last night as part of us finishing up the last story quests before ending this playthrough. Sadly, Duke Ravenguard was nowhere to be found, despite the market for the quest being in the middle of the keep and Mizora telling us he'd be at the coronation. We also looked for him at the Iron Throne but he wasn't there and that, I think, is part of the problem and what caused him to essentially die off-screen.
His story stretches through all three acts of Baldur's Gate 3 , and he can become a camp follower late in the game. He is suspected to be trapped inside the burning inn, but after rescuing Counsellor Florrick she reveals that the Grand Duke has been kidnapped. The party learns that he was taken to Moonrise Towers by the followers of the Absolute. They watch from the shadows as the trio infect Ravengard with a mind flayer tadpole and then whisk him away to Baldur's Gate. Immediately after the ceremony, Ravengard can be spoken to. If that party says that Florrick sent them, he says that Florrick is a black widow who betrayed the city, and that she was punished. Choosing to connect with Ravengard's parasite to seek information about Florrick reveals that she is imprisoned in Wyrm's Rock Prison and set to be executed, starting Free Counselor Florrick. If the party prods Ravengard's mind further, they find that deep uncertainty and fear of an illithid invasion is within him, indicating his mind hasn't fully been taken over. Once the coronation is complete, Mizora appears and reveals that Duke Ravengard is already being moved to another location to be disposed of.
