Going further south, I found this great little cove at the northern end of Safety Beach. When I was there, people were still arriving well after sunset to go for a walk. Despite not being far from Mornington, the sand was much softer here, and there's all sorts of things to see. Walk along the rocks of the marina canal, go exploring the small caves at the opposite end of the beach, sniff around the local beach huts. It's tucked away behind a big hill to the north, which could be handy on windier days. Also interesting, is the marina canal passes OVER the roadway like a bridge, rather the other way around. There's a walkway under the canal which I found interesting to explore. There is also a lovely wooden walkway along the northern side of the marina which takes you past new expensive looking estates to have a gander at. The southern wooden walkway has a locked gate so no use walking on that. Parking-wise, there's limited space next to the beach, and to access it you need to come off Bruce Road and go down a small laneway. Make sure to have a look at the map's satellite view of the area to get an idea of what I mean. Otherwise park further down along safety beach and have a good walk around. There's a small cafe and pizzeria further south along Marine Dr, but otherwise I didn't find much food to eat without having to go for a drive further afield. Further details and comments on Doggo.
