There is quite simply nothing better than a packed Rock City dmas rock city, singing together at the top of their lungs. So, we headed down to Rock City to see if our assumptions were correct…. You can tell tonight is a sold out show the minute you reach the top of the Rock City stairs and see an almost full crowd for the opening act, Liverpudlian indie outfit STONE. Thirty minutes later and Rock City is now full to the brim, so much so that the usually quiet corner of the venue is also overflowing with bodies.

Written by Sophie Johnson. With a reputation for delivering high-energy shows and a sound which blends Britpop influences with a modern twist, DMAs were set for a brilliant lively performance. After their stellar album tour in Spring , fans were excited to see the band again. Equally, the band were excited to be back in the UK — citing the nation as their spiritual home, as they owe a lot to their British fans. Unfortunately, they said they would be unable to return to the UK for a while post-tour, so they could work on writing new music.

Only last year they were supporting The Kooks on their UK arena tour and now they are supporting Liam Gallagher at his Finsbury Park show in the summer. The sold-out gig was unexpectedly filled with an array of ages, surprisingly because the band only burst onto the scene in Within the first 30 seconds, drinks were flying, and jackets hurled across the venue — you could tell that people were enthusiastic about the band. Devoted fans were moshing despite their second album being available for only a few hours prior to the gig. They looked like they were having a ball on stage and perhaps slightly tipsy, with Tommy drinking a pint throughout the gig and guitarist Matt Mason standing on top of the speakers overlooking the crowd. For an Australian band to gain so much support and love over in the UK is pretty rare.
