Seeing four intelligent and capable people making a go at love in a danger zone keeps the lame conflicts to a minimum and allows every moment spent together to feel meaningful. Quick stolen dates are treasured and evading peril feels exhilarating.

The King 2 Hearts had its faults, too, and at times I found the villain to be too cartoonish but at least the show allowed me to actually fear for the characters' lives and someone actually did die, which really got to me. MY torturing DSY with footsies in the soldier's mess hall. So much heart, portrayed but truly wonderful actors. Their budding lovelines seem to balance off their interactions - Myungjoo is a bit like Shijin when it comes to love - and now that they are in full fledged relationships, I can hope that all four could be friends. I also think that KMY is the star in the show, i feel so proud of her for being brave and courages of accepting that she's in the wrond and she's ready to make it up. I guess what I'm also taking from this drama is that because a drama is pre-produced, and has a big budget doesn't mean that it will be or turn out to be a quality drama through and through. With the diamond smuggling Manager I thought he would be collateral damage or have a blood diamond induced mess in his intestines, to have him be a carrier of a fictional virulent strain of deadly infection raises the odds just like that. And seriously, this is like the first drama I'm watching where I'm not screaming at the characters to get their head in gear. My heart totally ache for my time-travellers. KES played the romance part really well, almost to the point of milking it, however in the logic department, she failed miserably.
