If you don't care to be spoiled for The Seven Deadly Sins ' second season, then proceed with extreme caution. The bloody battle reached its climax as Estarossa and Melascula manage to get a grip on Meliodas. The pair prepare to slay the leader of the Deadly Sins, but Ban intercepts Melascula and kill her before the deed can be done. After bypassing Ban, the Ten Commandment manages to stab Meliodas' hearts. The Sins are unable to stop the bloodshed, leaving Ban to scream in agony at the loss of his friend. It doesn't take long for Estarossa to blow up Ban, citing the man's pitiful screams as nothing more than a nuisance.

As the Seven Deadly Sins anime is coming to a close, it certainly will be worthwhile to look back at some of the characters who lost their lives during the many battles of the series. Many of these characters captured the hearts of fans in one aspect or another. Even villains who somehow redeemed themselves were met with death rather than the fulfilling end they deserved. Though many other characters died throughout the course of the anime, these deaths are the ones that stung fans the most as they were heartbreaking and unexpected. With all these in mind, which deaths were the saddest in the Seven Deadly Sins anime? Monspeet and Derieri had abandoned the war to live together in peace and quiet in a village but were attacked by Estarossa who had come to claim their commandments.

Meliodas is first seen in the Boar Hat, serving his disgusting meals, and then ordering Hawk, a talking pig, to clean up the vomit of his customers. Moments later, the infamous Rust Knight enters the bar, scaring all the customers who believed him to be one of the "Seven Deadly Sins", and collapses moments later, which reveals him to be a female. The woman soon wakes up, is offered food and questioned as to what she was doing in an armor. As she begins explaining that she is searching for the "Seven Deadly Sins", a few knights, having been informed by the villagers of the Rust Knight, demand that Meliodas and him come out. The young man and Hawk do so quickly, and anger one of the knights by the latter's pretending to be the Holy Knight. As the woman when flees into the woods, they notice her and chase her. She is quickly rescued by Hawk and Meliodas, who ask for her to continue her answer. She then explains that she was searching for the "Seven Deadly Sins" in order to stop the Holy Knights, who, a few days ago, had orchestrated a coup d'etat, and had taken control of the kingdom; she also reveals who the Seven Deadly Sins are.

Meliodas is the main protagonist of the series Seven Deadly Sins around which the whole story revolves. Seven Deadly Sins follows the story of seven deadly criminals who had committed heinous crimes and as a result, the symbols of the seven beasts were carved onto their bodies. He had inherited Full Counter as his power and it became his go-to move in most cases. He possessed the Demon Sword Lostvayne as his Sacred Treasure which was instrumental in raising his power level initially. He is connected to the Demon King being his eldest son which made Zeldris his younger brother. Meliodas was a legendary fighter and his power level rose throughout the series as he went on acquiring various forms. This was the initial power level that Meliodas started with as a fighter. Although it was pretty low compared to his other forms, he was still more powerful than most other characters at that time. This just goes on to show the insane amount of power that Meliodas started with. Although he sold it at first, it was later returned to him by Merlin.

Their battle resulted in Ban being punched out of his cell and Ban, having become extremely excited, requests that the battle be continued. Meliodas made sure that Liones exculpated Escanor for terrorizing the villages, hurting the Holy Knights, and disrespecting King Baltra. With the war over, he wandered a shattered Britannia and eventually came across a human girl from a savage tribe who looked like Elizabeth, minus the wings. Ban says that they made that decision together. Monspeet was able to pull a fast one on Estarossa and get the upper hand, but the dubious Estarossa initiated an attack aimed at Derieri that forced Monspeet to release his grasp on Estarossa. He also wielded a dagger that appeared to be his Sacred Treasure. Elizabeth asks Gilfrost to transport her to Meliodas. Since then, Meliodas continued to meet and fall in love with Elizabeth's reincarnations, getting to know all of them. Despite this fact and Gowther's emotionless nature, Meliodas is shown to be friendly with Gowther as they chat and Gowther, in turn, seems to respect him as a captain as Meliodas was the only one whose secret he did not tell anyone.

When the baby Elizabeth was adopted by the king Bartra Liones , Meliodas requests to become a Liones' Holy Knight to stay close to her, convincing Zaratras of this by effortlessly defeating him in a sword fight. Their relationship has been heavily implied to be deeper than the rest of the Sins, as Meliodas freely talked to her about demon related subjects, such as the Ten Commandments, unlike everyone else who either refused to answer or changed the subject. However, the next day Gilthunder came running toward Meliodas and told him to run away with the others. After regaining his memories and emotions once again, Gowther's respect and friendliness towards Meliodas seemed to be more genuine than before. Zaratras used the power known as "purge" to pull Fraudrin out of Dreyfus' body and sacrificed himself in the process. When they were still an active and commended group of knights, they supposedly summoned to an old castle after defeating the troll queen and destroying the Great Druid Altar. As they entered the room, they discovered the Great Holy Knight, Zaratras completely skewered to death. Meliodas was confronted by his younger brother, Zeldris , before his desertion, to which Meliodas offers him to leave with him along with Gelda , but Zeldris tied to his loyalty and to his love for the vampire woman, rejects him affirming that he no longer considers him his brother, something he would later come to regret. As the Liones' Holy Knights attacked the castle, Meliodas gave his team his last orders: to disperse and regroup later to figure out the cause of Zaratras' death, which everyone obeyed and separated while fighting their way out. Elizabeth asks if there's anything they can do. At some point, Meliodas refused to allow Bellion to join the Ten Commandments, starting the latter's enmity towards him. Also, around this time, Meliodas and Merlin meet Escanor and convince him to join as the final member of the Sins, although the two were forced to restrain him by order of the king to stop his havoc.
