Of course, it goes without saying that this ends up backfiring spectacularly, in part because she is so truly awful in her imitation, pushing it into the realm of extra-offensive caricature. Dee even goes so far as to construct lies about her acting career. Normally, seeing someone get audited by the IRS makes one feel a little sorry for them. After all, no one wants to have to deal with that unpleasantness. Whatever sympathy one might have for Dee, however who is, in fact, being audited , quickly evaporates when she pretends that she has a baby, then pretends that it has died, and then stages a fake funeral. This is truly one of those worst moments for Dee which, considering her bad behavior, is really saying something.
