While she was originally supposed to be the voice of reason, she soon became just as narcissistic and terrible as the rest of the Gang and sometimes more so. However, for all of the times that the audience is invited to condemn her, there are also a few moments when the series invites a feeling of pity for this strange, bird-like woman. In what has to be one of the finest episodes of the show, Frank, Mac, and Charlie somehow manage to convince Dee that she has become a comedy star. They even go so far as to construct an elaborate deception to make sure that she falls for it hook, line, and sinker. Unfortunately, the toxic nature of their relationship means that Dee goes so far as to get the Waitress drunk, even though she knows full well that the other woman has a drinking problem. For some reason, Dee seems to think that it's a good idea to own a car in a big city like Philadelphia. Dee is one of those people who just seems blissfully unaware of how awful she is. How else can one explain the fact that she dresses up in brownface? Of course, it goes without saying that this ends up backfiring spectacularly, in part because she is so truly awful in her imitation, pushing it into the realm of extra-offensive caricature. Dee even goes so far as to construct lies about her acting career. Normally, seeing someone get audited by the IRS makes one feel a little sorry for them. After all, no one wants to have to deal with that unpleasantness. Whatever sympathy one might have for Dee, however who is, in fact, being audited , quickly evaporates when she pretends that she has a baby, then pretends that it has died, and then stages a fake funeral. This is truly one of those worst moments for Dee which, considering her bad behavior, is really saying something.

She was the token female and a soft voice of reason that no one listened to. Meanwhile, the Range Rover sends Dee head-first into a downward mental spiral that turns her into Dennis. So, it was only fitting that the episode ended with the Gang singing carols in the streets of Philly, getting rejected by the residents who just want to get some sleep, and continuing to sing them anyway, just to spite them. But before she realizes this, she gets furious at the driver for bumping into her car. Since the guys are all knocking back beers, Dee is the only one who can drive. She wants to drink with them, so she picks up a teenage hitchhiker and gets him to drive instead. As Dee imagines going into witness protection undercover as a British butler, she goes on to become a sitcom star and later a movie star married to Josh Groban.

She has been around since season one, and Kaitlin Olson has proven herself to be an absolutely brilliant comedy actress. Dee is prone to violent outbursts, proudly mean-spirited, and unflinchingly egotistical while simultaneously lacking any self-worth. Dee is treated especially horribly by the rest of The Gang, which is saying something considering each one of them is willing to sell out anyone else for a beer and a box of Tic Tac. While Dee is always good for a laugh, she tends to be overshadowed by the other members of The Gang, even in episodes where she drives the main plot forward such as "Dee Reynolds: Shaping America's Youth. While Mac and Charlie's conspiracy-laden mailroom gig is unquestionably the highlight of "Sweet Dee Has a Heart Attack," the titular character still gets her share of memorable moments.
