Had my first chance to use the GoRack at a gig this weekend. Review follows, first the context.

This product is in Mint condtion, has never been owned or even taken out of the box. The only reason it is no longer considered new is because it does not come with the power cable. As seen in the photos, the box is damaged as well. To give your best performance, you've gotta sound great. And you know you'll sound great because goRack features the same software as our professional DriveRack PA2. Historically, the convenience of portability in a PA System has meant a compromise in sound quality and fidelity.

My only con is no phantom power. I just got a dbx Go Rack. It's a two channel PA processor. I took about a half an hour to mess with the presets using a music player through the mixer. Once I had it dialed in to my liking, I set up my acoustic guitar and vocal mic and ran it through it's paces.

In essence, dbx have filched some of the features from their DriveRack range, simplified them, and crammed them into a tiny metal box that sits in the palm of your hand. There are five buttons: four for the individual processing sections and one for mute. A further aux input allows for the connection of mobile music devices, with three routing options Mono, Stereo or Advanced that allow the processing to be bypassed for the aux input, or to be split in Advanced mode so that the aux input gets the sub-bass and EQ sections and the main input goes via the anti-feedback and compressor sections. Power comes from an included universal-voltage wall-wart adaptor. A pair of rotary controls sets the left and right input levels, and small signal-metering LEDs turn from green to amber and then red to warn of clipping. I was really impressed by the very simple operation of this little box. Active processing sections are denoted by their buttons being illuminated in red, and while the data wheel defaults to setting the output level, if you hold down any of the function buttons, its LED will flash, at which point you can adjust it, the value showing up in the display.

I just used mine on a New Year's gig for the stage monitors. I was able to get plenty of level on stage with zero feedback Aux Input Impedance. Chrysander, I read the unit's specs online prior to my purchase thus I knew that it would definitely work for my intended application. The goRack listens for, anticipates and removes feedback automatically without altering your sound. It sounded much cleaner then the EQ I had in the chain. The dbx goRack is ideally suited for live sound applications where portability is essential without compromising sound quality. I have a scene saved on the XR18 which they could use for practice with having to hook up a PC and everything should work fine. I find the feedback suppression to be really handy.
