Synthesis Materials are obtained through a number of means, and can be combined to synthesize useful Items and Accessories. They are organized alphabetically below. Recommended farming locations for each material are also provided. Since many of the skills and equipment that aid in material farming are not unlocked until much later in the game, the recommended farming locations refer to the best places to farm materials after completing the events of your first visit to Hollow Bastion. Bright Crystal - The Defender heartless is one that you might want to keep beating even after you get the crystals you need. Break all of the other pots before attacking the heartless and you get a better chance of finding a Stone.

Fury Stones can only be obtained by defeating Gigas Shadows. These unique Heartless appear only in the Bizarre Room in Wonderland and seven appear at a time. If you enter the Bizarre Room and anything but Shadows appear then exit and try again. Your chance of a Fury Stone dropping depends on how many Gigas Shadows you defeat before they vanish. As the name implies, Gigas Shadows are jumbo-sized shadows.

Enter the world at the Camp save point and the Thicket is only one zone away. Simply enter and exit the zone until they show up. Once you defeat them, however, you must return to your Gummi Ship to reset the world and turn back on their spawn switch. Out of all the new speciality Heartless added to the Final Mix and further re-releases of the game, the Black Ballades are easily among the most obnoxious to farm. Instead, the single Black Ballade will split into five Ballades Balladii? Doing so will cause a lighting retaliation and cost you a try. This is a mercifully low number, considering what a pain it is to farm them.

Go figure. Mythril Shard. Power Stone. Soldiers are little guys, bigger than shadows but perhaps not by much when fully standing, and they wear helmets. Search Ghosts. Mostly just watch out for the sword attacks by the Pirates and the bombs that can be dropped by the Battleships. Frost Stone. Spirit Gem. Lightning Stone - The Black Ballade is actually pretty fun, in my opinion. Blaze Shard. Gale - Angel Stars and Invisibles will drop some Gale. Both enemies are relatively easy, but the Large Bodies can only be hit from behind which apparently includes the head, but not if you hit the belly first and the Soldiers can shoot across the stage fairly quickly. Special Heartless are enemies that hide in obscure locations and drop certain rare Items when interacted with in a specific way. These Items are used for synthesizing useful Items in the Item Workshop.

All of them. Lightning Stone - The Black Ballade is actually pretty fun, in my opinion. That is, until you cast Stop on it. Strategy: Now I used to hate these stupid little princess monkeys. It only happened to me once, so just be careful. Lightning Stone. Compose new message. They show up a lot in Monstro and Atlantica and are, obviously, a pain in the booty. A circle of will-o-wisp looking things will attach itself to you for a few seconds before quickly closing in.
