Despite a strong start and the addition of mid laner Park "CooN" Jae-ha midway through the summer split, Damwon Gaming finished fifth in the regular season. Crush, Alive, and Veritas left the team shortly afterwards, and dawon lol laner Shin "Nuclear" Jeong-hyeon joined the team to fill in the bot laner position, dawon lol.

During the week off they signed another midlaner in CooN but after seemingly recovering from a 3rd loss in a row with 2 victories they lost all of their remaining series and finished the split in 5th with an even record outside of playoff positions. They found themselves directly in the starting roster as the team managed to beat Kongdoo for the first time in round 1 but was knocked out without a chance by LCK team Jin Air. Going into Season BeryL moved to support and shared the support position with Hoit. In the Spring Split Damwon had another good first half of the split where they only fell to the other topteam Griffin and brought in jungler Punch who was dropped by Kongdoo in offseason and experienced AD carry Veritas who was a free agent as well after CJ disbanded. In the second half they lost the rematch against Griffin as well as the series against Ever8 Winners but went into playoffs with a 4-match winstreak and as favorites as Griffin was already qualified for the promotion tournament. They met E8W in semifinals and were upset by them again.

They revealed a roster of Parang , Crush , Boroona , BeryL and Hoit , which would be their starting line-up heading into the season. Halfway through the season, CooN also joined the team to finish the line-up for this split. In Spring , BeryL would return to the starting roster as a support player. The rest of the roster stayed the same, and despite the team making playoffs this time, they still placed th following a loss against Ever8 Winners. They managed to drop just 3 games in the entire tournament, going in groups, beating DRX , G2 Esports , and eventually Suning to secure themselves the World Championship title. Heading into , Khan joined the team as a replacement for Nuguri , who left for FunPlus Phoenix at the end of the season. With these results, the team secured a direct invite to Worlds where they are looking to reclaim their title of the world's best. After wins in against MAD Lions and T1 , they faced off against EDward Gaming , they lost the grand finals in a 5-game fashion, failing to defend their world championship title. Burdol and Hoya would become the new toplaners for the team, while Ghost and BeryL left the team. Replacing them are Nongshim RedForce botlane duo deokdam and Kellin. G Esports. Ahead of summer, Nuguri returned to the team.
