And the little you is opening it, revealing an even tinier office! I guess you could try starting your own little industrial revolution, or something?
Cookie Clicker is a deceptively simple game. On the surface, it's nothing but a mindless idle game, but it's actually much more complex thanks to new mechanics added over the years and a near-endless progression system that continues to feel rewarding. It's a lot more than watching numbers go up — and the new version of the game on Steam adds even more. The upgrading system present in the game is based on the number of a certain cookie generator that the player owns. For example, the Prune Juice upgrade for Grandmas requires that players own 50 Grandmas. While some upgrades might take a while to build up to, they tend to be very worthwhile for the patient or AFK Cookie Clicker player.
Upgrades are things that make buildings and some other parts of the game better. As of version 2. Sometimes, upgrades cost cookies, but can also cost Heavenly Chips or cps. Upgrades grant different types of bonuses, including but not limited to:. All upgrades will appear at the top right of the page, on top of buildings, and will disappear from the list when bought. When bought, they will also appear in the stat sections, where they can be viewed at any time along with the tooltip on hover, that describes its effects. Just like cookies and buildings, upgrades are often lost when ascending. Permaslotted upgrades, however, will stay throughout ascensions.

Santa was first introduced during the Christmas v1. Once A festive hat is purchased, an icon will appear under the Big Cookie reflecting Santa's current level. It can then be upgraded until Santa reaches his final form. Santa's level has little impact on the game , but every time he is upgraded, a random upgrade is unlocked. Santa's upgrades can be quite useful so once getting the season switcher it is recommended to use Christmas first. Purchasing "A festive hat" or upgrading Santa's level to a stage that is not "Final Claus" will randomly unlock one of the other fourteen upgrades excluding "Santa's dominion" below. Their price raises each time you upgrade Santa, starting with 2, cookies and tripling with every Santa level. Note that this also affects upgrades you unlocked previously but haven't purchased yet. Once Santa reaches his "Final Claus" form, "Santa's dominion" will be unlocked.

The first Permanent Upgrade Slot costs a paltry Heavenly Chips in the Ascension screen, but the cost escalates quickly to 20, for the second Upgrade Slot, three million for the third, million for the fourth, and 50 billion for the fifth. Only of any use in Cookie Clicker's Steam version, of course.
Cookie Clicker is a seemingly simple game that conceals a surprising amount of depth.
Chancemakers were added in version 2. Garden plants grow every second. Long ignored by confectioners, its harvesting process was discovered simultaneously in multiple countries during a global beet shortage. You'd do well to be casso-wary of them.
