Should we end the "bidding war"? Are we turning the platform into a betting platform "BetToWork"? Freelancers are struggling to get jobs including me with 10 years experience and more than positive reviews with the huge competition right now. So basically you have to subscribe to a plan in order to keep your project catalogs active and to apply to jobs. I guess this will be more profitable for the platform and more affordable for freelancers too and i believe it will decrease the current competition between freelancers. The system of limited proposals was before on Elance and i think everybody agrees that Elance was really a perfect platform for both clients and feeelancers. When i run-out of proposals, i give a chance to other freelancers to apply and not ending in between applicants, we may rarely see over applicants for 1 job. Also, i suggest a screening test for all new freelancers and some kind of "equality" between the amount of freelancers from each country, some countries have very affordable cost of living leading freelancers to work for less money and it creates like a non-fair competition with other freelancers living in other countries. Also why not offering clients 1 month free trial and after that they have to subscribe to a monthly plan to post jobs. In the meantime some new clients they just post a job without hiring. These are just my thoughts since i have been feeelancing for over 10 years now and i really miss how Elance and Odesk were perfect for everybody. I do not like the idea of the number of applications. I have one-time jobs if they are done well.
