In Zelda: Breath of the Wild The Isolated Plateau is one of the first major quests you need to complete, and arguably the most important, as doing so will give you free access to the rest of world behind the Great Plateau. If you're after help for parts of the game, consult our Zelda: Breath of the Wild walkthrough and guide. To complete this quest, you must locate and solve the puzzles inside the following four Shrines of The Great Plateau:. When you have found all the runes from the four Shrines, the Old Man will appear outside the last completed Shrine and tell you to meet him in the middle of where all four of these Shrines meet. Open your map, and trace a line in your mind from the four distance Shrines, and they'll connect over the Temple of Time, just off center of the Great Plateau. Want help with the main game? There's also how to get the Master Sword , Hylian Shield and all Zelda Captured Memories and Great Fairy Fountain locations , while our Shrines locations and Shrine maps hub explains where to find and solve every puzzle room, including dragon locations and Labyrinth solutions. The easiest way to the Temple of Time is to fast travel to the Shrine of Resurrection, and retrace the steps you made at the start of the game, down the path and to the large ruined structure on the right. Inside is a giant statue that you can pray at, provided you've completed the four Shrines and have obtained four Shrine Orbs. The statue will give you the option of upgrading either your Heart Container or your Stamina Vessel in exchange for the Orbs. This is your choice depending on what you value more, but a safe bet is always health, so you can take more damage during combat and exploration.

These bombs - that come in both sphere and cube form - can be placed and detonated at any time, although there is a small delay between detonation and being able to place a new bomb. Be sure to stop by the very top of Mount Hylia, where you should come upon the Old Manwho will give you a Quilted Tunic so you won't have to keep shoving peppers down your mouth. Start playing.

As you enter the Ja Baij Shrine, you'll find a large sealed wall in front of you at the end of a slope. The cracks in the wall imply it can be destroyed - but you need something to do that with. Look for the pedestal on the left and place the Shiekah Slate to gain the ability to use Remote Bombs. These bombs - that come in both sphere and cube form - can be placed and detonated at any time, although there is a small delay between detonation and being able to place a new bomb. Spherical bombs are great for throwing or rolling down slopes, while cubic bombs are better suited to precise locations where you need the bomb to stay. Place one at the end of the ramp to break the wall leading to a hallway.

The Great Plateau is the first region of the game where Link begins his quest. After awakening at the Shrine of Resurrection, Link ventures out into the Great Plateau and he must complete the first four Shrines to progress onward. The game begins with a voice summoning Link to awake in a desolate cave. Wearing nothing but a pair of shorts, Link will awake within the Shrine of Resurrection. Wander over to the nearby pedestal to collect the Sheikah Slate , a mysterious tablet that will guide you along on your quest. This will trigger a nearby door to open up, so run on through. Here you will find a pair of treasure chests containing an Old Shirt and some Well-Worn Trousers , giving our hero some much needed clothing. Run ahead and hold the Sheikah Slate up to the pedestal, causing the nearby door to open up. After an overview of the world, Link will see an Old Man in the distance walking towards a camp fire.

We recommend you take time to explore the world at large in-between the main objectives you are given. In particular the moving platform ahead will move too rapidly for you to cross - so inspect the pedestal to the left with your Sheikah Slate to obtain the Stasis Rune. As such, the guide below is just one of many possible ways you can experience the game. Entering the shrine you'll find it to be almost clockwork in its design - with many moving parts and gears moving platforms in a large hall. Before you do that, now's a great to time try out our latest bit of kit - the Paraglider - by simply press X while in the air. There's no feasible way to get to it - but why not bring the chest to you? Noting the marks on the floor, pull - don't push - the doors open, and speak with the monk Oman Au to complete the shrine and gain a Spirit Orb. These bombs - that come in both sphere and cube form - can be placed and detonated at any time, although there is a small delay between detonation and being able to place a new bomb. Be wary as you move into this next section, as the hall up ahead is configured to launch giant boulders down a ramp - and will smack into you and likely toss you over the ledge. Grab your Sheikah slate, put on some clothes and climb your way out of the cave.

Breath of the Wild is filled with over Shrines scattered throughout the Overworld. Only the first four shrines on the Great Plateau are required in order to complete the game.

After solving the final dungeon, return to the Temple of Time to collect the paraglider , which allows you to leave the Great Plateau. The cracks in the wall imply it can be destroyed - but you need something to do that with. You can either climb up the hills behind the Temple of Time, or climb up from the cliffs near the farm house on the southern tip of the region - You'll have to cross a small ravine by chopping down a tree, then climb up the cliff face on the other side, using the small platforms along the way up to catch your stamina. Look for two large cracked stones on the left and detonate a bomb next to them to reveal a ladder going back up. It is guarded by a half-functioning Guardian that cannot move but will shoot its laser for an extreme amount of damage. One of the next shrines you can go to is located in Southern area of the Great Plateau, up at the top of a steep cliff at the southeastern side of Mount Hylia. After speaking with him, he'll note that the only way down off the Great Plateau is with the Paraglider he owns. Look for a patch of Spicy Pepper by the archway leading to the frozen tundra, and either eat or cook them to gain temporary cold resistance as you trek to the shrine. Since the shrine is located in an enclosed area behind it, you can either sneak past the Guardian and climb the walls, or trick the Guardian into blasting the walls apart. Email required.
