It seems to be a pain in the ass to use. In both cases, the camera meters like there's no flash on basically, I'll often get unneeded long exposures in Av, or wide apertures in Tv. The only mode that's kind of comfortable is P, but I hate to use that. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? Publish Preview.

Don't get me wrong, when in ideal situations it's a great flash, but my experience has taught me not to reach for that unit first.
