Meteorologist Helen Reid said the Brindabellas would have already collected a "nice white blanket". This week's cold front bought a dusting of snow to parts of the ACT's south on Wednesday, with conditions leading to closures in parts of the Namadgi National Park. Meanwhile, hail was seen in parts of Canberra's south including Fyshwick, Symonston and Hume. It comes as falls were also spotted in areas across the border in NSW around Michelago and Nimmitabel, with some roads out of Jindabyne closed except for vehicles with snow chains. The weather system has brought with it bumper falls for Thredbo and Perisher ski resorts ahead of the official start to the ski season this weekend, with several centimetres of snow being recorded. Forecaster Helen Kirkup from the Bureau of Meteorology said the majority of snow from the weather system had fallen in areas to Canberra's north, such as towns in the central tablelands. Ms Kirkup said while snow was more likely to be seen in the ACT around Mt Ginini and the Brindabellas, some falls could happen lower down on Thursday in the right circumstances.
