Broadwayworld message board
Warning: The following broadwayworld message board post is going to make me either incredibly popular in the theatre community or incredibly unpopular in the theatre community. And so on and so forth, until I found myself in a career where it legit revolves around what other people think. Am I good enough, am I pretty enough, broadwayworld message board, am I friendly enough, etc.
Reply Chat Boards. Theatre Board is currently the only chat board I use to discuss theatre, and I'm pretty happy and satisfied with that as it's completely brilliant. This means that, obviously, I'm not a member of the BroadwayWorld chat board - and I know many on this board are. I'm not sure whether people have heard about this, but actress Patti Murin who was due to be in Broadway musical 'Nerds' that was pulled at the last minute as financing fell through has "taken on the chat boards" - specifically BroadwayWorld - campaigning against the negativity and snarky comments on there. Her blog post is a pretty interesting read, as are some of the comments left below it, and I'd be interested to know what people's thoughts on it are, as this board can get heated but it's still a lovely place to be and, as I said, I'm not a member of the BroadwayWorld chat board, but I sometimes feel that the same can't be said over there. I'm afraid I have no idea who Patti Murin is, but this blog post makes her sound terribly unprofessional. Cardinal Pirelli Member.

Spend a little time to think about that and you might be surprised what you discover. She has had a message board name for years, occasionally using it to broadwayworld message board her shows. Replies: Views: 42,
The simple thought of the theatre chat boards like BroadwayWorld or TheatreBoard is enough to send writers, directors, performers and producers running screaming into the night. If producers had magic powers, they would make these boards vanish, but why, why do they have such a bad rap? I have been a member of the Broadway World chat board for well over a decade, I have seen everything you can see from smartly written reviews, bitching and fighting, gossiping and paid shills more on that later. Over the years my mind has flipped back and forth on the idea of these message boards, are they simply a way for theatre fans to express and share opinions, or do they do more harm to the industry than good? Here is the thing though, with all the drama that can happen on these boards, they also contain members who I think offer a valuable contribution to the art form, ones who give smart critiques of shows, often far better reviews than the critics themselves. Oh, and that message board member who thought my play sucked, well he was right, it did. These outlets allow theatre fans to connect from around the world, share casting gossip, backstage stories, news from workshops of upcoming shows and more, it can be a fun place for a theatre nerd like myself.

Patti, I greatly appreciate you bringing this conversation to light. Replies: 55 Views: 9, Theatreboard and the old board are pretty mild in comparison, only certain threads like the Bend it like Beckham thread have been heated enough for mods to close it. What's Hot. I tried to comment on the chat board but the post has been closed. I really love your suggestions. There are some genuinely nice people on there but they get drowned out by the fighting. Another poster goes under the username Jordan and seems to fly between the US and UK to see shows, that is someone who is passionate about theatre and frequently shares their balanced opinion and overall thoughts. I don't want to read a load of empty "positivity", I'm interested in thoughtful responses to what people see on stage, which is what we mostly get here. To tag me use admin but without the space. Please tell me I'm reading that wrongly!
BroadwayWorld is wishing a hearty-- in Oz-speak-- Congratulotions to the 'Munchkinland' touring cast of Wicked. The production is currently celebrating its 15th anniversary of making magic across North America. Check out a photo of Whoopi Goldberg visiting Spamalot on Broadway!
Asking a site to remove content that you do not like even if you do not like it for good reason because you do not have the will-power to not click on it is simply wrong. I was never really part of it, but I had done some paintings for my friends in the touring cast, so there was, for all intents and purposes, fan art that existed under my name. Because as angry as we are, we choose love. I wear glasses and was a stage usher quite a bit or was chatting with Head Usher John. Questions I beg you to consider. I first started using the BWW forum about a year ago, and was for a while spending a lot of time on there, and then stopped entirely and took a break from it for several months. The things you said have absolutely nothing to do with censorship, but everything to do with manners and respect. BWW made a rod for its own back by not having one and from the tone of it, I couldn't see much evidence of any moderation at all. Broadway , Editorial Christopher Peterson March 12, I do at times, whether it is pure curiosity, or because it does provide information.
I like this idea, I completely with you agree.
