Braun series 5 shaver review
Efficient even on tough beards: AutoSense technology reads and adapts power to your beard density, capturing and cutting more hair in every shave.
Pros: very comfortable, reasonably close shaves, lightweight and easy to use, quiet for a foil shaver , good battery life, travel lock, reasonably priced, compatible with the Braun cleaning stations. Our Rating:. It strikes just the right balance between cost and performance, making it a very appealing option in the mid-range segment. The new shavers are a complete departure from the current Series 5 that we all know. This particular Series 5 is bound to be the pick of the range thanks to its very reasonable price. So this review will also be relevant in the case of the other models like the cs , s or the UK Bs and Wcs.
Braun series 5 shaver review
Pros: great performance for the price, very comfortable, suitable for sensitive skin, very good build quality, excellent cleaning station, can be used while charging cc , waterproof, hard travel case, inexpensive replacement shaving head. Cons: pretty loud and strong vibrations during use, fiddly to clean manually, mediocre long hair trimmer, not the closest shaving razor in this price category. Our Rating:. The Series 5 line from Braun has been steadily growing in popularity, the main reasons for this being its excellent performance and reasonable price. With a host of compelling features, the Series 5 appears to be a viable alternative to the more expensive Series 7 but without any significant trade-offs in performance or build quality. The cc cc is one of the best-selling Series 5 models that has been getting quite a lot of attention for being basically a Series 7 on a budget. In order to find out if the hype around it is real, we have given the cc the full ShaverCheck treatment and subjected it to thorough testing. The best alternative is now the Braun Series 8 which is really similar in all regards. The Braun Series 5 is a three-blade foil shaver suitable for dry-only use. The more recent Series 5 models like the cc, cc or cc can be used wet or dry. The shaving head configuration is typical Braun and features two outer foils with the trademark octagonal perforations and one middle trimmer. The outer foils catch and cut short stubble close to the skin, while the middle cutter, called the ActiLift Trimmer , captures longer, flat-lying hairs that grow in different directions. Apart from that, the whole shaving head pivots to further improve the contact between the cutting elements and the different contours of the face. This is carried out via the head-locking switch located on the front of the shaver, just below the shaving head. There are 5 predetermined positions for locking the shaving head and you can go through them by simply pushing the head into a different one without any damage to the ratcheting mechanism.
Is it safe to assume that a current 5 will be superior to my early 7?
Customer reviews are independent and do not represent the views of Braun UK. A nice clean shave. My third Braun in a row. Absolutely unbelievable. No i have spend extra money for new charger:.
The Series 5 from Braun is a mid-range line of electric shavers that fills the gap between the entry-level Series 3 and the best-selling Series 7 shavers. However, if we consider the performance and the overall capabilities of the Series 5, they are a whole lot closer to the Series 7 than the Series 3. Factor in that the Series 5 costs less than the Series 7 and is actually better in certain areas and we have the recipe for a very compelling shaver. Moreover, the current generation has received an update, making it even more difficult for the potential buyer to decide which model would be more suitable. The current Series 5 from Braun that this guide is about is actually at the third generation since the introduction of this line. Some of the previous discontinued models — like the cc — can still be found, but in this article, we will only be referring to the current generation. The Series 5 is a foil shaver that features a cutting block with three individual elements, just like the Series 7. Braun Series 5 cc. See the price on Amazon.

Sadly no travel case included, but I can always pick one of those up separately at a later time. For me, closer shave is more important. Please try again. The Series 5 is quite similar to the Series 7 performance-wise and if budget and cost of ownership are a concern replacement shaving heads are also cheaper compared to the Series 7 , then the Series 5 would be a very good choice. Regarding the cleaning, warm tap water and optionally some liquid soap would probably be the best option I posted a detailed guide on that here. It really impressed me how it always provided a perfectly comfortable shave, even when I pressed harder than I normally would. Particularly its head is smaller and I think this would suit my face better. I am looking at the cc and the cc, I have somewhat sensitive skin, looking to shave in the shower using the Jack Beard balm , U have suggested, and shaving my head, on the fence about both, there is a 10 dollar difference. The Series 7 also feels slightly faster and more refined — the Series 5 vibrates quite a lot during use. Before I go through the hassle of returning the solo and buying the cc, is the cleaning station that much more effective than cleaning the shaver manually? Hi Phil, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Yes the motor is much more powerful but the flexing head without possibility of lock it, gives me spending much more time with shaving, and a closeness of a shave is a joke. If you clean the razor with soap after every shave, then you should also lubricate it after every shave. View Basket. I bought this shaver few weeks ago. Update 5. It takes around 60 minutes for the battery to fully charge and you can achieve this by plugging the cord directly into the shaver or by placing it into the cleaning base that also charges the shaver. I think not as in my opinion and experience the 5 series is equal to or even better than the latest models! Longer Lasting Li-Ion Battery. The station model number is actually , not and it will work with your Series 5. Please try again. Create a review. Since this shaver is suitable for dry use only, you can also shave while it is plugged in. View Basket. Both will actually be suitable for shaving a 2 days beard, but with your sensitive skin, I think the Series 5 is the better option.
For the life of me, I do not know.
Now all is clear, I thank for the help in this question.
