I only purchased these because the discount was too great to pass up and was pleasantly surprised by how much my 7 yr old enjoyed playing with them. A few pieces of the hair did fall off of one of the dolls but I am not sure if that happened before or after she opened them. I've found pieces of Betty scattered throughout my home so much so it's like a Betty Spaghetty landmine because you never know when you'll step on a random piece, though thankfully they're not very painful.
