Christmas morning has always been my favorite. It was the one day of the year, aside from Easter, that we were allowed to eat chocolate for breakfast. But the best part was the chocolate was only the appetizer to the big Christmas brunch yet to come! Although my excitement for a chocolate breakfast never waned, as an adult, the after- brunch wasn't quite as exciting because I was the one that had to get up and cook it. This Wife Saver recipe is a savory overnight breakfast casserole with layers of bread, ham, cheese, eggs and corn flakes.

This Christmas Morning Wife Saver is the perfect casserole for Christmas morning made with ham and cheese and topped with cornflakes. Just wake up, bake it and enjoy! I thought it sounded so easy and perfect for Christmas breakfast or brunch. This is a simple recipe that was meant to be prepped the day before baking and serving. However, it is possible to bake the casserole on the same day. To start, get your pan prepped and ready to go. It must be greased or the casserole will stick to the dish. To form the base, arrange 5 to 6 slices of bread over the bottom of the baking dish. You will most likely need to cut them to make sure the surface is fully covered. Next, layer the sliced ham over the bread and then top with the shredded cheese. Now, arrange another 5 to 6 slices of bread over the layer of cheese making sure to cover it completely closing any gaps.

Once cook for the hour as specified, let it sit for half hour. Thanks for the tips,now I know why mine is a bit soggy. Oh well,it will be a bit bit soggy this year,but this will be the last year.
