The festival runs from Friday 14 July — Saturday 9 September , has 84 Proms and will feature over 3, musicians. The BBC Proms launches with a programme bursting with opera, oratorio and large-scale choral work and the first ever weekend-long Proms festival rooted in the North-East at Sage Gateshead.
