He has been able to jump into the game off the bench and produce or give normal starters a rest. Since coming to Atlanta, Lopez has been hitting. Taylor Hearn went over to the Kansas City Royals. Hearn was originally acquired by Atlanta from the Texas Rangers for cash considerations. He made one appearance for the Braves where he allowed 4 runs in a third of an inning. He was then optioned back to Triple-A Gwinnett to make room for A. While Hearn is on their man roster, he is currently back in the minor leagues. The Royals gave Hearn 7. The Atlanta Braves have been the hottest team in baseball dating back to June. They won 25 of their last 30 games heading into the All-Star break, including a start to July. The Braves' dominant stretch has resulted in the best record in Major League Baseball -- and by more than a handful of games, at that. Among National League teams, the Braves rank first in batting average, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage; first in home runs and runs scored; first in ERA and second in strikeouts. Of course, the direness of that situation inspired general manager Alex Anthopoulos to make a series of additions that later proved pivotal to the Braves' World Series run, including Eddie Rosario , Joc Pederson , and Jorge Soler. The Braves undoubtedly prefer their current situation to where they were this time last year, but the endgame remains the same: win a championship -- and, in the process, become the first repeat World Series victor in more than two decades. The former isn't a pressing matter, since the Braves can enter a postseason series with Max Fried , Kyle Wright , Charlie Morton who has pitched better as of late , and Spencer Strider serving as their rotation. Ian Anderson is also around, though his inconsistency makes him a lesser option. On the bullpen side of things, it never hurts to have one more veteran arm.
