A resident from Bradshaw has raised concerns after she says back streets were not gritted over the weekend, which left several cars sliding into each other. Janet Taylor, said that cars were sliding into each other, and that there were no salt or grit boxes on the streets. A 'LABOUR of love' has allowed years of local history research by a Bolton man to be turned into a fascinating book almost a year after his death. Alan first met Norman at a meeting of Halliwell Local History Society and they were also involved in the Astley Bridge reminiscence group. Alan was born in Darcy Lever and Norman in Astley Bridge and they were each experts in the history of these areas. Sadly, Norman died before he finished it but he bequeathed his archives to his friend and local Cllr Fairclough.
