AC3, AC4, and Rogue are more varied and improved. II improves a ton and is the most critically-acclaimed so yes it should be way better.

On AC2 the more I turned up the in-game brightness, the less impressive it looked. Everything from the buildings and trees, to the cloths, armor, and weapons is more detailed with a more vibrant color scheme. I think AC2 is good, but having played AC4 all the way through, and it being the first AC game I was drawn into and completed, AC2 feels very repetitive and lacking in scope to me.
