Supply crates Beacons , or Rifts as some people call them, are large crystals of different colors that drop from the sky and can be opened upon reaching certain level milestones. The color of the drop indicates what level you must be in order to open the crate. They can also hold blueprints which will allow you to save your EP for other engrams. Each supply crate will start as a small, spherical storm in the sky with a colored beam reaching towards the ground. This gives you a signal as to where the supply crate will land relative to your location. Lower level crates typically stay along the beaches and forests where there are less hazards to your health. Higher level crates tend to land in areas where the threats to your survival become real. You'll have to use your judgment as to when it might be worth venturing out for a crate and when it is best left alone. Once a supply crate lands it shoots a beam of colored light towards the sky and starts with health. As time passes on it will drop by 10's until it reaches 0. At that time the supply crate will disappear. Below is a list of the colors and what level you need to be.
