Of course, one of the challenging parts of ARK: Survival Ascended is knowing where to find the resources you need. There are three different maps, two of which were created at the request of users on the forum. The first is a Points of Interest and Harvesting map that helps keep track of such things as caves, metal, crystal, obsidian, silica, and oil locations, as well as biomes. The caves on the map are denoted with letters that correspond with the artifact that can be found inside.

Even with full clothes I've rarely been in normal condition. Perhaps I did something wrong so this is a weak minus. I've writen this as a plus as well, but in mid-late game geting some Raptors and carnivores stronger than Dilos are tough to find.

Plus there are only raptors to contend with and they are easy to outrun on to a second target.

All group names for creatures and spawn areas are taken from the DevKit, so some of them may look a little weird. This guide will walk you through the basics of the spawn map. For this example, we will be looking at the spawns of Ankylosaurus on The Island. We start by clicking on the drop-down list to select a creature. Every creature is available in the list, including variants such as Unicorn and Yeti, but it is currently not possible to have multiple creatures displayed at once without viewing the full spawn groups explained in a later step. We're going to select Ankylosaurus for this example. There are now multiple colored rectangles overlaid on the map. Each of these rectangles represents an area that the Ankylo can potentially spawn in. Anywhere without a rectangle has no Ankylo spawns, although they can wander a short distance outside of a rectangle. If you hover your cursor over one of the rectangles, it will display the coordinates of the upper-left and bottom-right corners of the rectangle.
