By Grayden , February 8, in General Discussion. This may be a dumb question, but what does a compy eat? I've tried berries all kinds , I've tried meat cooked, spoiled, and raw? I guess the only things I haven't tried are eggs and veggies. SaltyBeard is correct. Before tranqing a compy, have the prime on hand on a bird or other dino and fresh as possible. On standard setting, it takes 14 primes for a compy; 5 for level 30 and 8 for level And, it will eat them in about 3 minutes. So, you will want to have it all ready to go. Compyies only eat pmraw prime meat and raw prime meat turns bad in 2 mins on a player and animals its 8 mins. On trick for transferring prime, is to use take all assuming the source you are taking from does not contain other meats and transfer all to put the prime onto the compy. So long as the prime is the last thing in your inventory, it will be the first placed into the compy's inventory. Other stuff will also get transferred, but, you can alway take that stuff back; the goal is to handle the prime for as short of a time as possible. Thanks, I didn't want to try using prime on a compy because I didn't want to waste it if it didn't work.
