We launched the site back in May after two local papers which we worked for and who carried fairly extensive GAA coverage folded. After a discussion John and I came up with the idea of an online GAA forum dealing specifically with Gaelic games in Antrim in order to promote those games within our county and so the Saffron Gael was launched. In the eight months we were in publication in we had , views on the site. The site has had over 5,, views to date which proves that there is a massive interest in what we are doing in Antrim and indeed much further afield. In , , and we carried reports and photographs of the majority of ACF League and ACH League games and covered every hurling and football championship game played in Antrim and followed the winners of those championships on their Ulster journey. Last year there was no Ulster or All Ireland club series but hopefully that will resume in and if it does we will be there to bring you coverage. We extended our coverage to the Camogie and ladies football championships and will endeavour to cover as many championship games this year as is physically possible. As you may gather such coverage is time consuming and involves quite a large team of photographers and reporters which in turn incurs a lot of expense. We are extremely grateful to clubs who have made donations to the Saffron Gael to date. Many of those clubs again donated in , 19 and 20 and have pledged support again this year.

Talking is an overrated way of communicating. It's a lot easier to sing karaoke than to sing opera. Go Down Pages 1 2 Surely the pressure for the Antrim champs to retain the Ulster Club is still there isn't it? Tyrone Eastwood. April 19, , PM by Hurler Should all county boards not be doing all they can to promote Irish particularly at this time - perhaps also by making announcements in Irish as well as in English. If you need to find out more contact your county committee representative. I noticed a while back the league fixtures were to be released, have I missed the publication and If so do you have a link or could you give me an actual date. General question: Who sets the admission prices for the National League games? We'll give it a go yeah but there is no expectancy on Cargin winning Ulster, thats just silly. Anyone at Tullyglass last night for the presentation dinner - saw a couple of posts on the old board that Sidearse made a complete tit out of himself as MC for the night. Regarding the use of Irish for the announcements, the club PRO is proficient in Irish and I'm sure he will be happy to increase usage.

July 31, , PM by reddog. Toe, in or out? Real shame, was hoping they'd offer to play the game. The fixtures should be out soon. For Club games we would use N Eoin for the home team. We are expecting the first batch of fixtures out this week and the rest to follow asap. November 11, , AM. Will we just have to guess when and where games are on. February 14, , PM by gaaman Antrim Hurling. We are nearly mid way through March and still no fixtures issued.

  1. It is a pity, that now I can not express - there is no free time. I will be released - I will necessarily express the opinion.
