The avant-garde interior design is a groundbreaking first for Paphos, crowned by a roof-top terrace accessed through an impressive staircase that reaches for the sky to reveal views of the magnificent Paphos Castle. Blending into the dunes of the only sandy beach of the Kato Paphos seafront, Antasia Beach Club gradually reveals itself as guests descend from the top terrace to the beach level below. While completely tucked under its terrace and revealing itself only after completing the descent, Antasia Beach Club is completely embedded within the beach below, marking a fresh and smart intervention that strikes the perfect balance between man-made and nature. Inside, the spatial and seating arrangement has been carefully considered to amplify the pristine sea as a stage for guests to come watch, be touched and bewitched. This ascending flow of human energies from the sea into the restaurant and up the esplanade bar resonates beautifully with the essence of time and place, tying both harmoniously together. A sea of white scales has been introduced throughout the space resonating with the underwater life beneath.

The building was designed by the renowned Cypriot architect Psomas and brings cosmopolitan, even urban flair to the idyllic beach landscape. The Beach Club is open all day for guests. From breakfast coffee, to lunch and lounging on the cozy rustic day beds to dinner, cocktails and dancing into the night. The groundbreaking, minimalist, oscillating design of stone and glass stages the breathtaking view. Lounge and dining areas, inside and outside, spread across two floors. With the view of the natural coastal landscape, they focus on custom made furniture as well as a subtle neutral color palette. We have seen the closure in Paphos of several high-profile restaurants but the good news is that some of the restaurant owners are planning to open again in the future. And many new restaurants are appearing, some of which have been more anticipated than others. The new Antasia Beach Club is a case in point. It has recently opened by the Sodap beach and has been two years in the planning. Built by the municipality, it is now home to Antasia, part of the Thanos hotel group so our expectations were high for this meal. Anyone who walks the coastal path will have watched the progress of this unusual building over the last couple of years. The building is two storeys. The beach club has a bar on the ground level, with the restaurant on the lower ground, just above the beach. The architecture is very different for Paphos.
