This year's theme is "Inner Beauty", encouraging artists to draw inspiration from their model's energy and character as they create their art. After the painting session, both the artists and models take a ride on double decker buses through the streets of Manhattan to share the artwork and body-positive message with the city. Theme is 'Humanity'. Bodypainting Day is founded by artist Andy Golub, who has been painting bodies in the public streets of NYC since Bodypainting Day started in in New York City.

The amount of work the artist puts into their work and the arduous amount of patience their subject which is their canvas has to have while the process is being done was something I did not realize until I witnessed it myself. As you can see in the image, the artwork is fantastic and varied. Interestingly enough, after they were painted, the subject and artists boarded two double-decker buses with an open top deck and went by the United Nations to show the vision of the artists. There was a strong New York City Police presence as there are at all public affairs in the city which is much appreciated.
