Alfheim legendary chest
This time around, Alfheim is a little different, and is feeling the effects of Fimbulwinter in its own unique way. This makes posting guides — and screenshots — a bit tricky. The Strond is the entrance to Alfheim, and will take you up to the Temple of Alfheim legendary chest.
If you're looking for the last Legendary Chest in The Barrens of Alfheim, it might be in the cave located in the southern section of the area. You'll know it's the right cave if you can see red nodes from the Dark Elf hive matter glowing inside. To gain access to the cave and its Legendary Chest puzzle within, enter through a narrow crack in the wall on the right-hand side if looking at the red nodes. Look out for the small tree growing from the nearby rocks above the crack to find where it is exactly. You need to be so accurate, that you may have already discarded the correct solution because it doesn't appear to be working. Your goal to solve this Legendary Chest puzzle in Alfheim is to throw your axe at the purple Twilight Stone to break two of the red nodes, then quickly recall your axe to break the third and final red node , getting rid of the hive matter for good and clearing a path to the Legendary Chest. You have to throw the axe at the correct area of the Twilight Stone, however, and stand in the exact right spot beside the third red node for the recall to break it.

The sections on this page are ordered by when you can visit them earliest in the game. Additionally, there are no Legendary Chests in The Canyons. The Legendary Chest in The Strond is found just after you first use Twilight Stone to destroy a wooden door from behind and fight some Wretches. Standing in the doorway facing the way forward, you should see a ledge just ahead that you can drop down. Do so, head left, then destroy the debris blocking the way, then kill the two Wretches who show up. In the room beyond the doorway will be the Legendary Chest, sitting next to an Artifact. This chest can be found in a side-area just after Tyr jumps across some hanging panels to give you a way to cross a gap. At the bottom, turn right to find a fork guarded by four Wretches: make a U-turn to the left to drop down another ledge. Kill the two Wretches here, then open the Legendary Chest. It trades the small area of effect that Flames of Anguish has for dealing more damage to a singular target, making it good for using on a priority target. This Legendary Chest is found at the door puzzle shortly after your first encounter with Light Elf Mystics the ones that focus on ranged attacks. The chest contains the Hilt of Garn Relic, which gives Kratos a shot of Rage and stuns any enemies close to him. This chest is found in the large chasm area where you need to get across after Tyr jumps the gap, but requires you to take a longer route.
You have to throw the axe at the correct area of the Twilight Stone, however, and stand in the exact right spot beside the third red node for the recall alfheim legendary chest break it, alfheim legendary chest. Back out on the lake in front of the Ringed Temple, take the boat up to the Northwest shore to find the Light Elf Shore. The second and third bells are both visible while standing next to the chest.

The white marble Legendary Chest puzzle is located in the room after the battle with the light Elves, when Tyr said he would handle it, but Kratos and Atreus ended up fighting them anyway. Instead of finding a way through the large bright door ahead, turn left and jump down to where the golden wheel is. Ignore the wheel and instead head through the door beside it to start the Legendary Chest puzzle. You can now jump down the platform in front of you and open the Legendary Chest to get the 'Hilt of Gram' Relic, which grants a burst of Rage and applies Stun to nearby enemies when used. When you enter the elven library, turn and then climb up to the balcony. The first brazier is, as usual, right next to the Nornir Chest. Move forward, climbing the wall and then grappling. Standing at the chest, look toward the first bell and throw your ax at the purple crystal. Continue through the Burrows until you reach a room with a half circle exit. Inch forward again until you find yourself on some stairs flanked by two purple crystals. You can use the hint here to find a piece of loot later in the game. Depending on where you are in the game, she can be pretty tough. Climb up and face down The Hateful once again in the Draugr Hole. Burn it.

From beyond the first gate, take a left along a path to a gazebo with a Nornir Chest overlooking the river leading to the Ringed Temple. This chest is found in the large chasm area where you need to get across after Tyr jumps the gap, but requires you to take a longer route. Look for a column to your left, which has some purple crystal gunk on it. Do so, head left, then destroy the debris blocking the way, then kill the two Wretches who show up. Hit them all with Light Arrows to activate the Realm Tear. The third brazier is a bit of a journey although you can activate it from below if you have Hex arrows already. The Nornir Chest is just to the right of the rock you had to lift up in order to reach this area. Once there, the normal way is to grapple over to Tyr; instead, look left to see another plate to grapple to.
