After having discussed my thoughts on the Dancer of the Boreal Valley and my fascination with her I have decided to turn that into a series of posts based around the bosses of not just Dark Souls 3 but the souls series as a whole, this includes Bloodborne. There are several bosses from Dark Souls 3 that I hold in high regards, the majority of Dark Souls 3 bosses dominate the top half of the bosses from the franchise as a whole therefore I will follow on from the Dancer with another boss that shares the same game as she does. The whole point of Dark Souls 3 is that we the Ashen one have a duty, a duty to return all lords of cinder to their chairs in the firelink shrine so that the fire may be linked once more. There are 4 of these beings, The Abyss Watchers, Yhorm the giant, Aldrich the devourer of gods and the twin princes Lorian and Lothric. When consuming a man one can only assume that Aldrich consumed their soul also making him the perfect choice to link the flame. Aldrich hails from Irythll of the Boreal Valley, though he became a cleric he developed a taste for human flesh, he ate so many men that he bloated like a pig and softened into sludge as a result he was locked in the cathedral of the deep. The Deacons are followers of Aldrich in fact they believe him to be their master, this is quite clearly shown by the fact that the Deacons of the deep are guarding the tomb of their master, the saint of the deep.

Aldrich, Devourer of Gods can be a very frustrating fight. Aldrich, Devourer of Gods is at the back of the Anor Londo cathedral, and there are two ways you can run through. The other option is to ignore the front doors and run around to the left side entrance, up the stairwell and into the side of the cathedral, then run up and around the walkway of the cathedral to the other side. The disadvantage here is that it takes longer. Either way you need to run up the stairs at the front of the cathedral and either avoid or fight the silver knights there. Aldrich, Devourer of Gods does most of his damage at range, so get up close if you can.

Aldrich is located inside Anor Londo. He is a mandatory boss, and as such, cannot be skipped. Aldrich will take some extra damage from Miracle based attacks, but seems to be resistant to most forms of other magics. As a mage, Aldrich takes good damage from physical attacks.

If you've been wondering where your old Anor Londo friends have got to, the answer may well be "in Aldrich's belly".
He will take massive damage, and the only attacks you'll have to worry about are his Soul Spears which can be dodged easily and the tracking Arrow Rain in Phase II, which can be outrun. As soon as this attack is detected, the player is advised to completely disengage from battle and start running throughout the room with no specific direction. When he rears up and aims his bow , he will launch an expanding wave of highly damaging arrows in front of him, allowing you to circle behind him and get hits in. More like Aldrich, Devourer of My Patience with those cheesy ranged attacks. I used Vow of Silence for my second try and killed her. From there use the stairway contraption to get you to anor londo.
