Very much St. Tropez vibe, people are dancing on the tables and having fun.

Watching the sunset in Mykonos is more of a ritual and is often accompanied by buzzy music and tropical cocktails hello, aperol spritz. During my time on the island, there was one sunset that was absolutely magical — and that was at Sunset Bar. This outdoor bar is perched on a hill allowing for breathtaking panoramic views overlooking Mykonos town, the famous windmills, and the picturesque harbor. The bar is part of the Mykonos Castle Panigirakis, a hotel and event space — so alternately, you can plug this into your GPS! You can also go by vehicle car or ATV as there is ample parking but be aware that the roads are steep and narrow single lane only. The bar offers a full cocktail list as well as a Greek and international wine and champagne menu.

When you are here, everything is geared towards the windmill, the white shaped houses and the hues of Aegean pelagos. The wind, the waves and the clouds are a reminder of how we are connected to the Earth. This place includes a relaxation experience with the first-row lounge tables and the second row of symposium tables. The arch feels like a place to see the bigger picture that overlooks the Mykonos Chora and the view over the Aegean Sea. View beyond the Chora to the old port, spills on to Cycladic sunset. There is an endemic fusion of symposium tables at the second row and the lounge tables of the first row. You can dine and drink sitting on the big stands of this space as you watch the sun drops on the horizon. A place to get happily lost in, among all those views of pelagos and Aegean culture with hand embroidered textiles surrounded by the impeccable geometry of Cycladic sunset. Immerse into the panoramic view of the never-ending expanse of the blue sky and Cycladic islands. From this vantage point with big stands and tables, the sun constantly shifts as the winds carve waves into the Aegean surface. You can feel comfortable at this series of stairs, which all provide breath taking sunset views, as you gaze upon the beautiful Aegean pelagos.

One of my favourite things to do in Mykonos was to watch the sunsets every evening. It was like a ritual: leave the beach around two hours before the golden hour, get dressed, watch the sunset, dine and party. Being able to take photos with the golden hour glow was my guilty pleasure! There are some key places in the island where watching the sunset becomes an experience. These places make a perfect cap off to a day in Mykonos! This was actually my favourite place in Mykonos to watch the sunset. I recommend you make a reservation to secure the best spots within their layout. My second favorite place to watch the sunset in Mykonos is Little Venice. Widely regarded as one of the most romantic places on the island, Little Venice is also perfectly located so that there are multiple locations here to gaze at the setting sun. The best place in my opinion is the restaurant Nice N Easy which has many tables in the terrace and provides the perfect view of both the windmills and the colorful houses floating above the water.
