His current research focus includes improvisation, actor training, and the relationship between architecture and movement in both artistic and daily life situations. During his training he undertook a two-year research fellowship investigating the role of gynaecological ultrasound in the management of women with ovarian tumours. The principle conclusion drawn from this research is that the quality of an ultrasound examination has a clear positive effect on the management of women with ovarian tumours. He was awarded a research degree MD in , going on to complete his general training and subspecialisation in gynaecological oncology surgery at the West London Gynaecological Cancer Centre in Mr Yazbek is highly skilled at performing gynaecology and early pregnancy ultrasound. His main interest is in improving the diagnostic accuracy of ovarian tumours as this has a positive effect on subsequent management. He leads a research programme investigating the management of borderline ovarian tumours, fertility preservation and restoration. He regularly lectures about these subjects worldwide. He is also highly skilled in performing open and minimally invasive surgery for benign and malignant gynaecological conditions. He has promoted the use of intra-operative ultrasound for various gynaecological procedures. His expertise in ultrasound, colposcopy and complex gynaecological surgery allows him to provide comprehensive, high quality care to women presenting with a wide range of gynaecological complaints.
