Canterbury has received some encouraging news about Josh Addo-Carr's injured right shoulder, with the star winger cleared of a fracture. But scans did show Addo-Carr suffered significant soft-tissue damage when injured during the Bulldogs' loss to Parramatta at Western Sydney Stadium on Saturday night. Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo had feared Addo-Carr had "broken something" but he is expected to return this season, despite needing some time on the sidelines. They haven't suggested a return-to-play date as yet, but I'm told that overall it's good news. The Bulldogs were also relieved to learn Viliame Kikau can escape with a fine after being placed on report for dangerous contact on Parramatta's Dylan Brown. On an afternoon when Eels halfback Mitch Moses was left battling a groin injury, it was the Bulldogs who felt the pain most in front of a crowd of 29, The Bulldogs spent almost the entire game defending their own line, before two late tries added respectability to the score. Such was Parramatta's dominance, the Eels controlled 60 per cent of the ball and had more than 50 play-the-balls inside the Bulldogs' defensive metre zone.
