The baddie is nothing more than a puppet who was recruited at the worst time. Jigen is simply the front for Isshiki Otsutsuki, and he has been so for years. According to the backstory fans learned, Jigen was a simple human monk when Isshiki and his partner Kaguya arrived on earth. The latter left Isshiki for dead after a double-cross went wrong, so the man needed somewhere to rest. Isshiki shrunk himself down using his special power and lived inside of Jigen for a while without the monk knowing.
It could be activated at will, causing it to spread across his entire body in nearly symmetrical sunburst patterns.
Jigen is the primary antagonist of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and the leader of an organization known as Kara. He was introduced to us after the events of the Mujina Bandits Arc in the manga and his fighting prowess was recently revealed as well. As expected of someone who leads the members of Kara, Jigen is monstrously powerful. He was able to take on and defeat both Naruto and Sasuke in battle at once and he did so without even receiving so much as a scratch. Much of his powers stem from him being Isshiki's vessel but they're quite dangerous, nonetheless.
Centuries later, he became the leader of Kara as Jigen in order to continue to carry out his original plan, as well as secure a new, better vessel in Kawaki. A thousand years ago, Isshiki came to Earth alongside Kaguya with the objective to plant a Tree to harvest its Chakra Fruit. While Kaguya, being lower-ranked, was planned to be sacrificed to create the Chakra Fruit, she instead turned on Isshiki, leaving him on the verge of death after destroying Isshiki's lower half. Upon the formation of Kara, Isshiki through Jigen became its leader and acquired a new Ten-Tails seedling ; the Inners collectively agreed on obtaining the Chakra fruit [1] by cultivating a new God Tree huge enough to devour all life on Earth. Eventually, Isshiki found Kawaki; after Delta tested the boy's blood as a viable candidate to be a vessel in the anime. After taking custody of the boy, Isshiki introduced Jigen as his new father and reassured him. Recognising the man's talents, Isshiki offered him a place in Kara with the promise of reviving Akebi through the Chakra Fruit. At some point, Amado presented to him several cyborgs he had modified to secretly bring down Jigen, under the pretences of being useful for the sake of Kara's plans; however as their combat abilities exceeded Jigen's, he ordered Amado to dispose of them to not undermine his position as leader and ordered Boro to get rid of them, not knowing that Boro had actually hidden them all in his cult. When she attempted to study Jigen's, he considered it treason, and destroyed a portion of her brain before she escaped. Isshiki was driven, pragmatic, and remorseless.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has finally explained two of its biggest long-running mysteries. While the Boruto sequel anime has been airing for several years, most of that content is filler material, and many consider the true beginning of the story to be the introduction of a villainous group known as Kara - something the TV series is only just approaching. The Boruto manga, however, has continued to develop Kara, revealing them as a cabal of tech-powered ninja intent on developing a "vessel. A shroud of mystery was cast over Kara's leader, the formidable Jigen, but the villain was eventually revealed to be a previously unseen member of the Otsutsuki clan named Isshiki. Nevertheless, many gaps in Jigen's story and intentions remained, and there was a big question mark over his involvement with the strange Karma power. This ability Jigen forced upon Kawaki, and Boruto was granted the same markings after his battle with Momoshiki Otsutsuki. At times, Karma hinders the boys, but it has also granted great strength by absorbing any chakra-based jutsu an opponent throws at them. As with Jigen, much remained unknown about Karma, but Boruto 's latest chapter fully explained both. Konoha village recently welcomed a new guest in Amado, a defector from Kara who was only too happy to spill Jigen's secrets.

However, only from when Isshiki decided to draw out his full power into Jigen's body was he able to defeat Naruto and Sasuke at all as prior, the two shinobi took Jigen to his limits, whereupon accessing full power was Jigen able to decisively defeat both of them, sealing the former while nearly killing the latter. The fight severely weakened Jigen to the point he was forced to withdraw his attempt to retrieve Kawaki and engage in a two-day recuperation process. In the anime, he was shown charging up a beam of energy, similar to Kawaki. Jigen calmly identified Sasuke's identity based on his Rinnegan and criticised him for having a lousy timing that made them now pitted up against him, unfazed at facing the two without restraints. His win is more a triumph of tactics than outright strength. He was a fairly tall man of light complexion. Jigen boasts a previously unseen eye technique that allows him to shrink and restore objects at will. Isshiki was able to gain control of Jigen over time this way, and he eventually cemented the process by giving the controlled monk a Karma mark. Jigen has a rather peculiar ability to be able to shrink objects at will. Through having his nutrients absorbed from within his body, Isshiki began gaining control over Jigen's body, and eventually lost full control of it. Someone like Naruto couldn't trace him at all, despite having the powers of the Six Paths Sage Mode which, theoretically, should've allowed him to sense him, at the very least.

Despite their strong avatar forms and teamwork, Jigen easily ploughed through their defences and proceeded to swiftly wear down and pummel his foes into his submission. So be warned! His physical parameters were greatly enhanced, his strength being such that his blow pushed Naruto back noticeably despite him having properly blocked it, shocking the Hokage by the feat, resilient enough to be completely uninjured and instantly recover from being harshly kicked to the jaw by Sasuke. In time, Isshiki used Jigen's body to form a clandestine organisation to help achieve his goal, dubbed Kara. Like all Otsutsuki, Jigen is also capable of space-time jutsu. Sign in to edit.
