Camshaft position sensor b circuit malfunction
This diagnostic trouble code DTC is a generic powertrain code that applies to all makes and models of vehicles newer. However, specific repair steps may vary depending on the model. Since it mentions the circuit, the issue could be in the sensor itself, the wiring, or the PCM. Simply replacing the CPS camshaft position sensor may not necessarily fix the problem.

Camshaft position sensor b circuit malfunction
Where is the Camshaft position sensor B located? I have codes for Camshaft position sensor bank 2 sensor b circuit malfunction and intermittent. I can only find 2 sensors on the front of the engine. Do you. Hi, Are you sure it is a camshaft sensor, or could it be a variable valve timing solenoid? Is it possible for you to let me know the code? Let me know. Also, take a look at the pic below. Take care, Joe See pic below. Image Click to make bigger.
Well I thought I had fixed my P problem but got the code come up again this evening. However, specific repair steps may vary depending on the model. I know the automatic is only.

We recommend Torque Pro. If a code P accompanies a malfunction indicator lamp MIL in your vehicle, it means that the powertrain control module PCM has detected a problem with the exhaust camshaft position sensor or circuit for engine bank one. Bank 2 represents the bank of the engine that does not contain the number one cylinder. Sensor B indicates that the malfunction is occurring with the camshaft position sensor circuit that pertains to the exhaust camshaft. Clearly, variations in engine configuration will dictate the number of camshaft sensors that are required. For instance; an overhead valve engine will typically be equipped with a single camshaft sensor because the engine has only one camshaft. An overhead cam, four-cylinder engine will likely have only one camshaft sensor as well because it has only one engine bank , but an overhead cam, V6 requires at least two camshaft sensors one per engine bank.

We recommend Torque Pro. A properly running engine is essentially the precise timing of gasoline-fueled explosions. Depending on engine speed RPM and load the engine control unit ECU controls the timing and amount of fuel injection, timing of spark ignition, and in the case of engines with variable valve timing VVT , intake- and exhaust-valve timing adjustments. If there are two banks on a VVT-equipped engine, then there will be two camshaft position sensors. The camshaft position sensor reacts to a toothed wheel on the camshaft, which gives the ECU constant information on its speed and position. Sensor A indicates that the malfunction is occurring with the camshaft position sensor circuit that pertains to the intake camshaft. Sensor B codes pertain to the exhaust camshaft.

I had a quick look on the web and it looks like having the adaptions reset is something to do with the ECU. Thanks Tianorth. I then found a different description for the error code: P Camshaft position sensor B circuit Malfunction Whilst looking for connections to the camshaft postion sensor I noticed that the plastic multi connection block that I'm pointing to in the photo was incorrectly fitted above the metal bracket that's supposed to hold it in place. No worries. Upload your file here. Image Click to make bigger. That confirms there is only one camshaft position sensor on the engine. Simply replacing the CPS camshaft position sensor may not necessarily fix the problem. I'm in Cheddar, Somerset. The variable valve timing solenoid for both banks 1 and 2 are shown and they usually don't fail at the same time. I previously had a Merc E Class for eight years and it never went wrong! I have codes for Camshaft position sensor bank 2 sensor b circuit malfunction and intermittent. The camshaft position sensor circuit is an essential component in modern automotive engines. By monitoring the rotation of the camshaft, the sensor provides vital information to the engine control unit ECU , allowing it to optimize fuel injection and ignition timing. This ensures efficient engine performance and reduces emissions.
I took my RCZ to the garage round the corner as they are a Bosch Service Centre and I thought they would be up to the job of doing the adaptions reset. Log in. Only a young chap but he knew all about it. It's free! But I then went down to a local auto electrician who has an industrial unit near me. Let me know. However, after fitting the other part correctly I've driven the car for 25 miles and it was fine. Everywhere Threads This forum This thread.
